Except for the shoulder/neck/chest pain, all’s good

It’s almost the end of the week, apart from the apparent cold symptoms, all’s going well.
I survived my first graveyard shift on Sunday, which was not horribly tiring, but more on the boring end. If I have had customer coming up and asking questions, I would have been perfectly fine, but there were like a couple hours that we are just idling. I’m hoping to get out of it this week to let my body take a break.
Classes are quite interesting, there was one that guaranteed 3.0, one that has a textbook that looks like a magazine (only 10 times expensiver – yes, it’s a word), one that holds the lecture in the archaelogy building even though its a multimedia class, and finally one that’s going to make or break my IU college career.
And money wise, thanks to an awesome sister, my dinners (and even lunches) this week was pretty much covered.
Talking about blessing, we had Samuel last week, and now Alex and Andrew. It is so very exciting for the bystanders who don’t have to change diapers or stay up all night to make sure the babies are fed and happy.
Weekend projects include tons of decluttering and reorganizing the shelves/closet/room, I hope I can sleep in on both days and have energy to do the work.
Our God, is a gentle God.

Oh man
Heavy dark clouds, cooler breezes, sprinkles of raindrops.
I hope this is not the rain that closes out the summer that we are all whining so much about.
This weather reminds me of Sam who would always ask me if a cloud was a thunderstorm.
It was never a worry back in Seattle, but here in Bloomington, I certainly hope I’m not caught in a rain storm. 6 more hours to freedom.
Hubert on Self-branding

Courtesy of Emily
Hubert preached yesterday from the subject of ways of succeeding. He related it to Daniel who throughout the ups-and-downs of life, clang onto God and succeed in life (from a slave to being trusted by the king to lead a country).
One thing popped up when Hubert mentioned how people (the king) thought about Daniel, even though he (Daniel) has been forgotten for quite awhile. Branding doesn’t just apply to commercial products but people as well. Of all the products on the planet, the product with the most branding is probably people. Each one builds and leaves an impression to people.
I think in many ways it sounds like we are doing things so that people will think of a certain way, but on the other hand, on a more natural mindset, the things that you have already done/show sub-consciously has probably branded you.
And with the kind of mess I think I’m in right now (even though it doesn’t matter thanks to Genesis 15:1), demand for my brand is probably quite low on the market.

3 more hours to go. This is the first time I have seen IC being totally vacant.
It’s crazy (and Jimmy John delivery needs 2 hours wait).
Personal Religion on Pens
I think everyone has their own personal way of life, you have do thing certain way or use certain things for a certain job.
I need just one pen for me, but it has to be a really comfy one to hold and to write and can be easily carried around.
I may carry other highlighters or color pencils, but by the end of the day, I’m more aware of the whereabouts of the pen.
I’m writing this because I have lost two Pilot G4 in the span of a summer and its devastating!
Especially when I got most of them from Singapore (Popular Bookstore).
I feel empty without the tapping sounds of the pen and the way it feels when I spins it.
I need a new pen.
Taking the Reality of God to This Generation

Pastor Judah Smith during one of GC’s services
I have spent the past 3 days or so in the annual GC camp, that started about 15 years ago.
I have heard and learnt a lot, and I really hope that this year I will be doing a lot.
If you have the time, please check out Generation Church (GC)’s website.
It’s an awesome ministry that’s greatly blessed by God.
Like Optimus Prime said, “more than meets the eye”, the youth pastor – Pastor Judah Smith is not just a good-looking fashionable late-20s guy, but one with such depth of love and understanding of God that shocks me when it came to be known. If you are in the Seattle area, there are 3 different locations that you may check it out – University District, Kirkland and Central District.
Who’s the man?

Edwin van der Sar.
Saving 3 penalty shots. That’s just crazy.
Good start to season.
