Day 219: James 1:22 – Failed.

Pastor Judah with Andrew and Chiu Mama
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. – James 1:22
I have drafted previous days’ posts including 2 sermons, 1 banquet and 1 act of moving in. Very religious, very spiritual stuff. Pastor Judah shared at the last GC (Thursday) that instead of throwing long bombs, making huge religious statements (i.e. I’m gonna get 40 people saved), we should perhaps be more aware of the less-exciting small completions. And here is where, for the first time I heard a charismatic church discouraging being radical (to a certain extend).
The weekend that John Bevere was here at the City Church was quite mind-blowing. He opened lids of bottles that many didn’t even know were around. Such ideas include: God didn’t create Hell for Man, it was meant to be for the devil (podcast here); and the entire idea about Honor, which in its most original biblical meaning refers to appreciating, to value, giving high esteem to. And how God honors those who honors Him and dishonor those who dishonor Him (which translates to – God values those who values Him and treat as common those who treats Him as common). Just some really awesome revelation.
Day 2 of his themed sermon continue talking about honor. Especially imprinted in my mind is him using Matthew 10:40-45 to state the 3 level of human beings one will ever come into contact. People above you (prophets), people whom are you peers (righteous man), people who are entrusted under you (little ones). Honor them and you will receive your reward.
Yes, and the Vision Banquet. Then me moving into a shared house (basements are awesome). Thanks to my lovely Kulseth family for helping move, and lying my bed. Love you guys!
All in all, its good stuff, good for my ear, my heart, my mind. Yet, putting everything I have heard and contrasting them to James 1:22, I failed, sadly.
I hope this is not a hit that I will end up regretting for the rest of my life. That would be awful. God save me.
