They’ve got to learn to hit some Home Runs

Kalou’s goal was a fluke. A ‘Fail’ of a defensive line.
No, I’m not talking about the Seatle Mariners who certainly have fallen short on that in as many seasons as I have watched them.
But anyway, anyhow, that should be the mentality of a sports team, a good sports team, like Manchester United. Who, in my eyes, should be sitting at the throne of the EPL, sipping tea (since its English) with so many games ahead of them (in contrast to games behind) that they can play whatever player, whatever formation they want. Like the Yankees dynasty years back.
We can’t just be hitting some runs and hoping we can win against teams like Liverpool and Chelsea who have significantly strengthened their arsenal in this past 3 years alone. And with coaches like Scolari and Rafa, who’s definitely up to the task to go against Sir Alex, Manchester United has to go on the offense. Extreme offense.
No, they didn’t play well today yet again. It’s a 1-1 draw, but not a stalemate by any measures. Without the goal from Park, which was fortunate, United would have gone many moons down. They are tested, squeezed, pushed to produce – to a point where the players are asking questions (Wayne Rooney sure did).
Now, I am positive that Berbatov is a positive player, who is suppose to be bringing positive impact. However, unlike the many others that pushed their way into the first team, he got there out of luxury. Other than Cristiano Ronaldo, who just came back from an ankle surgery, all Man United players pounced on the ball – Evra, Evan, Ferdinard, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Giggs (DNP), Darren Fletcher. Those are the produce of hardwork! Sure, some of them were bought for the specific position, but they certainly play like they deserved it. But no, Berbatov was too tired from whatever he did before the match that he can’t pounce, he can’t run, he can merely jog around to possess himself as a threat to none (at least in this match).
I understand that this is only game #4, but if you want to win, then each and every game counts. 38 draws will only earn you 38 points. Last season, we had to get 87 points to top Chelsea, who were just 2 points behind. 7 points behind Arsenal with a game in hand right now doesn’t sound too bad. But then again, you are talking about Manchester United. And each point counts.
So in conclusion, Berbatov should start running, a strategy has to come out so that the flow can be flew before Ronaldo fully recovers (I mean c’mon, Rooney, Hagreaves, Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinard – world class players!). And if all fails, we just have to scramble to put together wins for winning sack. Otherwise, what’s there left to do?
