Now that’s a game.

Whee. It wasn’t an easy game to watch, even at the point of the spot kick (bad call by any measures). Ultimately I would use the word ‘majestic’ to address the United team today, even though it was not a goal rout as the 34 shots should prompt.

Bolton Wanderers deserve all my sympathy, their defense was solid and their offense of break-aways are dire at times, the penalty was a wrong call and without it, the scoreline might not have been so. Regardless, there is certainly a difference of class and depth between the two sides. I adore the fact that our substitute for the day was Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Nani.

It was interesting to finally see sparks off Berbatov who twist and turn somewhat like van Nisterooy. His passes were really sharp and precise. Too bad the goal didn’t come to him this game, but I believe it will be very soon.

On the other hand, Rooney’s presence was so vivid that I don’t think he was the same guy! Congratulations on the first goal of the season.

All in all, a desirable result for the United team and the fans. The gears has been shifted and let the season begin!

Thanks to YY for calling me at the right time (6:58am) so that I can wake up in time for the game. :)
